Job Description
Position Summary
The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and guest service in guest rooms, corridors, and assigned public areas. The role ensures that guests experience a clean, comfortable, and luxurious stay, reflecting the service standards of a 5-star property.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Rooms & Areas
- Clean and tidy guest rooms according to 5-star hotel standards, including making beds, replenishing amenities, dusting, and vacuuming.
- Ensure bathrooms are sanitized, restocked, and spotless.
- Replace linens and towels following hotel guidelines.
- Handle guest laundry and dry-cleaning requests as required.
- Conduct deep cleaning tasks and spring-cleaning schedules as assigned.
Guest Interaction & Service
- Greet guests politely and professionally in all interactions.
- Respond promptly to guest requests (extra amenities, cleaning requests, etc.).
- Ensure guest privacy, comfort, and safety at all times.
- Report any guest complaints or special requests to the supervisor immediately.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow hotel safety protocols, sanitation standards, and hygiene procedures.
- Properly handle chemicals and cleaning equipment.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards to Engineering or Housekeeping Supervisor.
Operational Duties
- Maintain housekeeping trolley, supplies, and equipment in good condition.
- Ensure all items are accounted for in the lost-and-found procedure.
- Complete daily task checklists and room assignment sheets accurately.
- Coordinate with Front Office for room status updates (Ready/Vacant/Occupied/etc.).
Skills & Qualifications
Required:
- Prior experience as a Room Attendant or Housekeeping Attendant (preferably in a 4- or 5-star hotel).
- Basic understanding of cleaning techniques and safety procedures.
- Ability to communicate in English (basic/intermediate).
Preferred:
- Knowledge of luxury hotel standards and guest service etiquette.
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and equipment used in hospitality.
- Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently.
Personal Qualities:
- Attention to detail and strong sense of cleanliness.
- Pleasant, courteous, and guest-focused personality.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift throughout the shift.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
Working Conditions
- Shift-based schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Fast-paced environment with high guest expectations.
- Uniform and grooming standards must be strictly maintained.
