About the Role

 

As a Murex Engineer within the Front Office domain, you will play a critical role in supporting the migration from legacy platforms to the Mx3 platform while ensuring seamless continuity of BAU operations. You will work closely with Front Office users and support teams to understand testing requirements and validate changes prior to production deployment. This role combines hands-on Murex expertise with strong analytical and business analysis capabilities. You will collaborate with key stakeholders to capture requirements, prioritize business needs, and ensure high-quality delivery aligned with strategic objectives.

What will your day look like?

As a Murex Engineer, you will be responsible for driving high-quality testing and ensuring seamless delivery across Murex platforms. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

 

  • Collaborating with Front Office teams to understand business needs and define appropriate testing scope and strategy.
  • Designing, developing, and executing comprehensive test cases across projects, ensuring alignment with business and functional requirements.
  • Executing SIT, UAT, regression, and automation test cycles, and effectively communicating results to stakeholders and SMEs.
  • Coordinating with upstream and downstream application teams to manage dependencies and ensure complete end-to-end test coverage.
  • Managing daily testing activities, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to quality standards, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead defect triage, root cause analysis, and issue resolution in collaboration with QA, development, and business teams.
  • Drive stakeholder communication and governance, including progress updates, key project discussions, and status reporting.
  • Support end-to-end integration testing across trading platforms, market data systems, risk engines, and downstream applications.
  • Partnering with Product Owners to refine backlog items, prioritize deliverables, and translate requirements into actionable testing plans.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Contributing to test strategy definition, process improvements, and adoption of best practices in quality engineering.

What will you bring?

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

 

  • 8+ years of experience in QA/Test Management within Capital Markets.
  • Strong functional and technical expertise in Murex, with hands-on experience in Front Office testing trade capture, pricing, risk, and settlements.
  • Good understanding of financial products including IRD, FX, Fixed Income, and Commodities.
  • Proven experience in end-to-end integration testing across trading systems, market data platforms, risk systems, and downstream applications.
  • Strong knowledge of trade lifecycle processes, including workflows, operations, fixings, and confirmations.
  • Hands-on experience with Murex modules such as MXTest, MxML Exchange, Datamart, and workflows.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to quality assurance and defect management.
  • Proven ability to manage risks, issues, and dependencies while providing clear and concise communication to stakeholders.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with experience working in Agile or Tribe-based delivery models.
  • Hands-on experience in test automation, including Advance usage of MXTest.
  • Cloud-related certifications or exposure to cloud-based environments.
  • Basic proficiency in any programming or scripting language.
