Project Manager

responsible for overseeing all aspects of building projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to required quality and safety standards. They act as the central point of contact between clients, architects, engineers, general contractors, and subcontractors. 

Key Responsibilities

The duties of a construction project manager include both office-based planning and on-site supervision: 

• Project Planning & Scheduling: Developing comprehensive project plans, including detailed timelines, resource allocation, and procurement strategies to meet milestones and deadlines.
• Budget Management: Preparing cost estimates, managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
• Resource Management: Determining needed resources (manpower, equipment, and materials), managing procurement processes, and ensuring necessary supplies are on-site when needed.
• Team Leadership & Coordination: Hiring, supervising, and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, including contractors and subcontractors, and delegating tasks effectively.
• Quality Control & Safety Compliance: Conducting regular site inspections, implementing and enforcing safety protocols, and ensuring all work adheres to quality standards, local building codes, and legal regulations.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serving as the primary liaison, providing regular project updates, addressing concerns, managing expectations, and fostering strong working relationships with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Risk Management: Identifying potential risks, evaluating their impact, and developing and implementing proactive mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.
• Contract Administration: Negotiating contracts with vendors and subcontractors, managing contract documents, and handling change orders and permits. 

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Hard Skills:
• Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, primavera p6).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and technical specifications.
• In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA standards).
• Strong financial acumen for budgeting, cost estimation, and control.

Typical qualifications include a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field, along with several years of relevant industry experience.
