Job Role: Interior Designers: HomeGen

The Interior Designer at HomeGen is responsible for understanding client requirements, creating stunning design concepts, preparing detailed drawings/BOQs, coordinating with vendors, and ensuring smooth project execution from concept to handover.

The role blends creativity, technical knowledge, and excellent client communication.

Key Responsibilities

Client Interaction & Requirement GatheringConduct client meetings (virtual or onsite) to understand lifestyle, space functionality, and aesthetic preferences.

• Provide expert suggestions on layouts, color schemes, materials, finishes, and interior styles.
• Prepare and present mood boards, concept images, and material options.
• Build trust with clients by giving practical, budget-friendly insights.

Design Development & Concept CreationCreate 2D space plans, furniture layouts, and conceptual design drafts.

• Develop 3D renders using tools like SketchUp, AutoCAD, Revit, or Foyr Neo.
• Ensure designs align with HomeGen’s brand aesthetics, modular approach, and budget range.
• Innovate new ideas for wardrobes, kitchens, TV units, and living spaces aligning with HomeGen’s catalog.

Technical Drawings & DocumentationPrepare detailed working drawings (wardrobes, kitchen modules, lofts, electrical & carpentry layouts).

• Generate BOQs (Bill of Quantities), material lists, and cost estimates.
• Ensure technical drawings meet production standards and site feasibility.
• Coordinate with HomeGen production team and vendors for accurate execution.

Material Selection & SpecificationAssist clients in choosing laminates, plywood, accessories, hardware, colors, and finishes.

• Provide material samples and recommend best brands (Hettich, Ebco, Century Ply, Merino, etc.).
• Maintain updated knowledge of market trends and new materials.

Site Coordination & Execution SupervisionConduct site visits for measurements, feasibility checks, and progress updates.

• Coordinate with carpenters, electricians, plumbers, and project managers.
• Ensure designs are implemented accurately on-site without deviation.
• Resolve on-site challenges with practical and quick solutions.

Vendor & Production CoordinationCollaborate with modular factories, panel saw teams, and fabricators.

• Verify production drawings, shutter details, and finish quality.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials and installation.

Client Communication & Project UpdatesProvide regular updates to clients on design progress and site status.

• Handle revisions professionally and manage expectations.
• Ensure smooth handover with 100% client satisfaction.

Quality Check & HandoverPerform final QC for modular installation, alignment, finish quality, and accessories.

• Ensure snag-free handover and coordinate for SpaceAssist warranty activation.
• Take photos and videos for project portfolio and marketing.

Skills & Qualifications

RequiredDiploma/Degree in Interior Design or Architecture.

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, V-Ray, Foyr, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of modular furniture design & execution.
• Excellent communication, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Understanding of HomeGen design standards and workflows.
