📌 JOB DESCRIPTION – RETAIL STORE MANAGER Position: Retail Store Manager

Location: GOREGAON

Department: Retail Operations

Reporting To: Owner / Business HeaD

Salary: 15K-20K

🔷 ROLE OVERVIEWWe are looking for a highly responsible, business-minded, and proactive Retail Store Manager who can run the store like an entrepreneur, maintain premium customer experience, manage staff, control cash & stock, and drive sales growth.

The ideal candidate will think like a business owner — taking smart decisions, improving processes, and ensuring the store’s profitability.

  • 🔷 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Store OperationsOpen & close the store on time and maintain operational discipline.
  • Ensure the store is clean, well-arranged, and ready for customers.
  • Floor management: product display, stock arrangement, cleanliness.
  • Implement SOPs for smooth daily operations.
  • 2. Cash, Billing & Financial ControlDaily cash deposit to bank.
  • Verify POS billing, cash, UPI, and card settlements end of day.
  • Maintain accurate cashbook & daily sales report.
  • Prevent cash shortages, errors, or fraudulent activity.
  • 3. Inventory & Stock ManagementOversee inward/outward stock movements.
  • Weekly stock audits & shrinkage control.
  • Identify low-stock, incorrect-stock, damaged items.
  • Create purchase orders based on demand & sales forecast.
  • Ensure proper barcode labelling and store organisation.
  • 4. Staff Management & HR DutiesStaff hiring, training, task allocation, and supervision.
  • Maintain staff attendance, leave records, and shift schedules.
  • Staff payroll coordination and performance evaluation.
  • Build a motivated, disciplined, customer-focused team.
  • 5. Customer Service & Relationship HandlingHandle customer queries, complaints, and returns professionally.
  • Ensure excellent customer service and smooth checkout experience.
  • Build repeat customer relationships through trust & satisfaction.
  • 6. Sales Growth & Business DevelopmentAchieve monthly sales targets and improve conversion rate.
  • Track category-wise sales, daily targets, and staff performance.
  • Plan and execute in-store business promotions.
  • Implement upselling, cross-selling, and combo strategies.
  • 7. Reporting & Business IntelligenceSend daily reports: sales, stock, expenses, customer count, staff notes.
  • Track sales order status & staff workflow.
  • Analyse performance data and suggest improvements.
  • Monitor market trends & competitor activity.
  • 8. Safety, Security & Audit ComplianceCCTV monitoring, theft prevention & asset protection.
  • Store safety, hygiene, fire and equipment maintenance.
  • GST-compliant billing & documentation.
  • Weekly stock audit with proper variance reporting.
  • 9. Leadership & Entrepreneurial MindsetThink and act like a business owner, not just a manager.

  • Knowledge of stock, billing, GST, and staff management required.
  • Basic computer skills (Excel, POS, reports).
