Accountant/ Accounts Executive

We are looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage the accounting and financial operations of our import and trading business. The candidate should have strong knowledge of import documentation, foreign transactions, inventory accounting, taxation, and banking operations related to international trade.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Financial Reporting

• Maintain books of accounts, ledgers, and financial records accurately.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Handle general accounting, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Monitor accounts payable, receivable, and vendor/customer balances.
• Perform bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring.

Import & Trade Accounting

• Account for import purchases, freight, customs duty, clearing charges, and landed cost calculations.
• Verify import documentation including invoices, bill of entry, packing lists, LC documents, and shipping documents.
• Coordinate with CHA, freight forwarders, shipping agents, and banks.
• Monitor foreign currency transactions and exchange rate differences.
• Handle accounting for Letter of Credit (LC), Bank Guarantees, and import remittances.

Taxation & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, and customs-related regulations.
• Prepare and file GST returns, TDS returns, and statutory reports.
• Maintain proper records for audits and assessments.
• Assist during statutory audit, internal audit, and tax audit.

Inventory & Cost Control

• Reconcile inventory with accounting records and stock reports.
• Monitor inventory valuation and costing.
• Coordinate with stores and procurement teams for stock verification.

Banking & MIS

• Prepare MIS reports, profitability analysis, and management reports.
• Coordinate with banks for import finance and working capital facilities.
• Assist management in budgeting and financial planning.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Finance/Accounting.
• CA Inter / CMA / MBA Finance preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience in an import/export or trading company.
• Strong knowledge of import procedures and trade finance.
• Experience with ERP/accounting software such as Tally, SAP, Oracle, or Busy.
• Good understanding of GST, customs duty, and foreign exchange transactions.
• Advanced MS Excel skills.

• Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and vendor coordination.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
