An HR recruiter is responsible for the entire recruitment process, including identifying staffing needs, sourcing and screening candidates, conducting interviews, and extending job offers to fill open positions. They act as a liaison between job seekers and employers, ensuring a company hires qualified individuals who align with its culture and objectives. Their duties also include creating job descriptions, managing candidate databases, and contributing to the overall talent strategy of an organization.
Key responsibilities
- Talent acquisition: Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and create detailed job descriptions.
- Sourcing: Find and attract potential candidates through various channels, including professional networks and job boards.
- Screening and interviewing: Review resumes, conduct interviews, and evaluate candidates to determine their qualifications and fit with the company.
- Candidate experience: Ensure a positive and smooth experience for candidates throughout the hiring process.
- Offer negotiation: Extend job offers and negotiate compensation packages.
- Onboarding: Assist in the onboarding process to help new hires integrate into the company.
- Database management: Maintain candidate records and applicant tracking systems (ATS).
- Employer branding: Help build the company's brand to attract top talent.
Typical qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in human resources, business, psychology, or a related field is often required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using applicant tracking systems and other HR software.
- Familiarity with employment law is beneficial.
