Job descriptionJob Summary:We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Restaurant Supervisor to lead front-of-house operations at our fine dining Japanese-Korean restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in upscale hospitality, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for Asian culinary traditions. This role requires overseeing daily service, managing staff performance, and ensuring guests receive an exceptional dining experience that reflects the elegance and precision of Japanese and Korean culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate daily front-of-house operations to ensure smooth service.
- Lead, train, and motivate waitstaff to uphold fine dining standards and excellent customer service.
- Monitor dining room ambiance, cleanliness, and table readiness.
- Ensure accurate order-taking and timely delivery of food and beverages.
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and feedback professionally and efficiently.
- Manage floor plans, reservations, and guest seating to maximize efficiency and experience.
- Assist with onboarding and continuous training of service staff, including Japanese and Korean cultural etiquette.
- Maintain stock of service items (e.g., menus, utensils, napkins) and communicate supply needs.
- Collaborate closely with the kitchen, bar, and back-of-house to ensure operational alignment.
- Uphold all health, hygiene, and safety regulations.
- Assist the Restaurant Manager in staff scheduling, performance reviews, and shift reports.
- Should have knowledge about the sales report, inventory report and attendance report.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Supervisor or Senior Waitstaff in a fine dining restaurant (minimum 2–3 years).
- Strong knowledge of Japanese and/or Korean cuisine, beverages and traditional dining practices are preferable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment.
- Well-groomed appearance and polished, professional demeanor.
- Proficient in using POS and restaurant management systems.
- Fluent in English is an advantage.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Diploma or certificate in Hospitality Management or related field.
- Food Safety and/or Alcohol Service Certification.
- Experience training staff on cultural etiquette and guest engagement.
- Conflict resolution and crisis management skills.
