Job Description
Job Title: Branch Manager – Microfinance
Location: Bihar, Jharkhand, and Uttar Pradesh (East)
Department: Operations
Reports To: Area Manager / Regional Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Summary:We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Branch Manager to lead our microfinance branch operations. The Branch Manager will be responsible for achieving business targets, maintaining portfolio quality, ensuring compliance with company policies, and leading a team of field officers and support staff.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Development & Outreach
- Drive branch-level customer acquisition, loan disbursement, and recovery targets.
- Conduct field visits, market research, and area surveys to identify potential customers and centers.
- Ensure growth in the client base and active membership as per the branch's monthly targets.
2. Team Management
- Recruit, train, and manage a team of Loan Officers (Grahak Mitra) and Field Executives.
- Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and field accompaniments.
- Motivate and mentor staff to achieve individual and team performance goals.
3. Credit Operations
- Ensure proper identification, verification, and assessment of customers.
- Oversee loan processing, documentation, and timely disbursal as per policy.
- Monitor loan utilization and conduct random field audits to prevent misuse.
4. Portfolio & Risk Management
- Maintain portfolio quality and minimize PAR (Portfolio at Risk) through timely collections and follow-ups.
- Identify delinquent clients and execute recovery strategies.
- Implement risk mitigation measures and fraud control checks.
5. Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure adherence to RBI guidelines, company SOPs, and internal audit requirements.
- Maintain updated records, MIS, and daily reports in the prescribed format.
- Coordinate with HO/RO for compliance-related matters and audits.
6. Customer Service
- Address customer complaints and grievances promptly.
- Foster a strong relationship with the local community and customers.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Graduate in any discipline
- 3–6 years of experience in microfinance, NBFC, or rural banking operations, with at least 1–2 years as Branch
- Proficiency in local language and familiarity with rural areas
- Basic computer skills (MS Office, data entry tools)

- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

- Good communication and team management abilities
- Understanding of micro-lending practices and risk assessment
- Willingness to travel and work in field conditions
Additional Requirements:
- Two-wheeler with valid driving license is mandatory
