Residential Vice Principal Job Description


Position Title: Residential Vice Principal


Overview: The Residential Vice Principal supports the Principal in the overall administration and management of the residential school. This role focuses on assisting with academic programs, student discipline, staff development, and residential life activities, ensuring the smooth operation of the school.


Key Responsibilities:


Administrative Support:


  • Assist the Principal in daily school operations and administration.
  • Act as the Principal in their absence.
  • Implement school policies and procedures.

Academic Leadership:


  • Support the development and implementation of the curriculum.
  • Assist in monitoring and evaluating instructional practices and academic programs.
  • Coordinate standardized testing and assessments.

Student Discipline and Welfare:


  • Address student behavioral issues and implement disciplinary measures.
  • Support the development of student welfare programs.
  • Ensure a safe and supportive residential environment for students.

Staff Support and Development:


  • Assist in the recruitment, hiring, and evaluation of staff.
  • Provide support and mentorship to teachers and residential staff.
  • Coordinate professional development activities.

Residential Life:


  • Oversee residential life programs, including student housing and extracurricular activities.
  • Support the development of a positive residential community.
  • Address student concerns and provide pastoral care.

Community Engagement:


  • Foster positive relationships with parents, guardians, and the community.
  • Communicate regularly with stakeholders about school activities and policies.
  • Address feedback and concerns from the community.

Budget and Resource Management:


  • Assist in the development and management of the school’s budget.
  • Support the effective allocation of resources.
  • Oversee the maintenance and use of school facilities.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Education, Educational Administration, or a related field.
  • Valid school administrator certification/license.
  • Extensive experience in educational leadership, preferably in a residential school setting.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a diverse team of educators and support staff.
