Job Description (JD) – Inventory Manager / Store Keeper Position: Inventory Manager


Industry: Pallet Manufacturing


Employment Type: Full- Time Job


Job Summary: The Inventory Manager cum Store Keeper will be responsible for managing all store operations, maintaining accurate inventory levels, ensuring material availability for production, and implementing inventory control processes. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of manufacturing material handling.


  • Key Responsibilities:
  • 1. Inventory Management -
  • Maintain accurate stock records for raw materials, consumables, finished goods, and spare parts.
  • Perform regular stock verification, cycle counts, and reconciliation with ERP/Excel records.
  • Update inventory transactions for inward, outward, and material consumption.
  • Monitor minimum stock levels (ROP) and raise purchase requests as needed.
  • Identify slow-moving, non-moving, and damaged stock items.


  • 2. Store Operations -
  • Receive incoming materials, verify quantity & quality as per purchase order.
  • Ensure proper labeling, storage, and binning of materials.
  • Issue materials to production based on approved requisition slips.
  • Maintain cleanliness, safety, and proper stacking inside the store.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team for pending and urgent material requirements.


  • 3. Documentation & System Updates -
  • Maintain GRN (Goods Receipt Notes), issue slips, and stock registers.
  • Update ERP/Inventory software daily (Zoho/ Tally / SAP / Excel).
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports for management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies for material handling and documentation.


  • 4. Coordination & Communication -
  • Work closely with production, purchase, and quality teams to ensure smooth material flow.
  • Follow up with vendors for delivery schedules, shortages, or replacement of rejected materials.
  • Inform management of discrepancies, shortages, or excess stock.
  • 5. Compliance & Safety Ensure proper storage of hazardous and sensitive materials as per safety guidelines.
  • Maintain fire safety, housekeeping, and compliance with audit requirements.
  • Support internal and external audits (ISO, quality audit, stock audit).


  • Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Diploma / Graduate in any discipline; certification in inventory or supply chain is a plus.
  • Experience: 2–5 years in inventory/store management, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of stock management, FIFO, LIFO, material handling, and warehouse operations.
  • Proficiency in ERP / Inventory software (Zoho Inventory, Tally, SAP, or similar).
  • Strong MS Excel skills.
  • Good communication and coordination abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet timelines.
