Lab Attendant – QC Department (Herbal Ingredients Industry)Job Summary:

Responsible for supporting the Quality Control (QC) team in daily laboratory operations, sample handling, cleanliness, and assisting analysts for testing of herbal raw materials, extracts, powders, oils, and finished products.

• Key Responsibilities:1. Sample Handling & PreparationCollect, label, and arrange raw material, in-process, and finished product samples.
• Assist in sample preparation (grinding, sieving, weighing).
• Maintain sample storage properly (retention samples, controlled samples).
• 2. Laboratory Support ActivitiesClean and maintain laboratory glassware, equipment, and workstations.
• Ensure availability of distilled/purified water for laboratory use.
• Prepare simple reagents/solutions as guided by QC Chemist/Officer.
• Maintain calibration weights, pipettes, and other basic tools.
• 3. DocumentationEnter sample details in logbooks/registers.
• Maintain cleanliness and 5S documentation of the lab.
• Assist in keeping chemical inventory records updated.
• 4. Safety & ComplianceFollow GMP, GLP, and safety protocols inside the laboratory.
• Proper handling and disposal of herbal residues, chemicals, and waste.
• Wear proper PPE and ensure housekeeping standards.
• 5. Support to QC AnalystsProvide support during routine tests:
• 
  
• Moisture content
• Ash value
• Extractive value
• pH, density, organoleptic testing
• Basic wet chemistry tasks
• Bring materials/equipment from stores when needed.
• Required Skills:Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment (balances, oven, muffle furnace, glassware).
• Understanding of herbal raw materials (powders, roots, herbs, seeds).
• Ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Good housekeeping & hygiene practices.
• Basic computer entry skills (optional but preferred).
• Qualification & Experience:12th Pass / Diploma in Lab Technician / B.Sc. preferred.
• 0–2 years' experience in QC of herbal, ayurvedic, nutraceutical, or food industry.
