Associate Technical Services Engineer

Job Summary:

A Network Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of an organizations computer networks, including local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and cloud-based networks.

They ensure network reliability, security, and performance to support the organizations business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Network Infrastructure Management: Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and access points. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot network issues to ensure optimal functionality. Implement and manage network security measures, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and encryption protocols.

2.Network Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as updates, patches, and firmware upgrades. Conduct regular network audits to identify and address vulnerabilities or performance bottlenecks.

3.User Support: Provide technical support to end-users for network-related problems. Assist in setting up and configuring network-connected devices (computers, printers, mobile devices, etc.).

4.Network Documentation: Maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and inventory of network assets.

5.Network Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor network traffic and analyze data to identify and address issues or opportunities for improvement. Optimize network performance by implementing quality of service (QoS) policies and traffic shaping.

6.Backup and Disaster Recovery: Implement and manage network backup solutions to protect data. Develop and test disaster recovery plans to minimize network downtime in case of emergencies.

7.Network Upgrades and Expansion: Plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, or migrations as needed. Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve network performance and efficiency

.8.Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with IT teams, system administrators, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration with other IT systems. Communicate network-related issues, updates, and solutions to management and end-users.

Qualifications and Skills:

·         Bachelors degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology) or equivalent experience.

·         Relevant industry certifications, such as CompTIA Network, Cisco CCNA, or CCNP, may be required or preferred. Strong knowledge of networking protocols, topologies, and technologies.

·         Proficiency in network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

·         Familiarity with network security concepts and best practices.

·         Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

·         Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

·         Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
