Compliance Officer

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically strong Finance & Compliance Analyst with a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, financial control, GST compliance, and accounting reconciliation. The ideal candidate will support our finance operations, ensure regulatory compliance, streamline processes, and contribute to system-driven improvements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Control & Accounting

Perform daily, monthly, and quarterly financial reconciliations (bank, vendor, customer, GL).

Monitor and maintain internal financial controls to ensure accuracy and prevent discrepancies.

Assist in financial reporting, analysis, and variance assessments.

Support audit activities and documentation preparation.

2. GST Compliance

Ensure timely and accurate preparation and filing of GST returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and others).

Reconcile GSTR-2A/2B with purchase registers.

Address GST-related queries, notices, and compliance updates.

Maintain proper documentation for input tax credit (ITC) and outward tax liabilities.

3. Computer Science & Systems Knowledge

Use CS fundamentals to assist in automation, data processing, and system enhancements.

Work closely with tech teams to improve finance workflows and integrations.

Use analytical tools, scripts, or data queries (Excel, SQL, Python preferred) to support finance operations.

4. Cross-functional Collaboration

Coordinate with procurement, sales, tech, and accounts teams to ensure data accuracy.

Work with external consultants and auditors for compliance and financial reviews.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or related fields.

Strong knowledge of GST laws, compliance procedures, and return filing.

Experience with finance control, accounting principles, and reconciliations.

Basic understanding of computer science (systems, databases, automation concepts).

Proficiency in Excel; knowledge of Tally, SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems is a plus.

Ability to work with large datasets; familiarity with SQL/Python preferred.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in a finance or compliance role.

Exposure to automation or system integration projects.

Understanding of financial workflows and internal control mechanisms.
