Production Engineer

Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Production Engineer / Mechanical Engineer with deep knowledge of SolidWorks Designer to join our team and contribute to the Production and development of Special Purpose Machines (SPM) specifically focused on ultrasonic washing machines.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Sheet Metal Fabrication , Piping, Drawing, Reading and Thoroughly understanding mechanical designs, particularly in the realm of SPM and ultrasonic cleaning technology.

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF YOUR ROLE :

-Reducing bottlenecks in mechanical assembly

- Preventing CAD-related delays in production

- Standardizing processes for new product introductions

Core Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Scheduling:

• Develop and maintain detailed production schedules for mechanical assembly, machining, and welding operations.
• Allocate resources (personnel, equipment, materials) to meet weekly/monthly build targets.
• Track KPIs: On-Time Delivery (OTD), workstation utilization, and throughput.

2. Production Acceleration Projects:

• Lead cross-functional projects to reduce assembly time by 15%+ (e.g., jig/fixture design, workflow re-sequencing).
• Execute rapid prototyping of critical components (tanks, transducers, racks) using SolidWorks.
• Implement error-proofing (poka-yoke) solutions to eliminate rework delays.

3. SolidWorks Execution:

• Overlook manufacturing-ready drawings (GD&T, weld symbols, BOMs) for machined/welded parts.
• Optimize designs for DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly) to cut costs and build time.
• Validate tooling/fixture designs in SolidWorks to ensure rapid deployment.

4. Bottleneck Elimination:

• Identify and resolve mechanical production constraints (e.g., material flow, welding delays, testing backlog).
• Collaborate with Purchasing to ensure critical parts (transducers, generators, tanks) meet JIT delivery.

5. Process Standardization:

• Document assembly procedures, work instructions, and QC checkpoints.
• Train production teams on new processes/tooling to reduce learning curves.

Key Responsibilities

1) Managing Shop Floor Production

2) PPAP Activities in Production

3) Scheduling Production to meet desired output timely

4) Cross-Coordination with Design , R&D, Electrical team for production

5) Handling workmen team of 12-15 Members on shop floor with Supervisor

6) Maintaining proper workflow system records

7) Coordinating with Store / Purchase to ensure fulfilment of Raw Material for project

8) Production Planning activities

9) Shop Floor Work Safety Monitor

10) Upkeep with Man power requirement

11) Proper allocation of Workmen for tasks as per requirement

12) Assisting Purchase with Vendor Development

13) Participating in R&D activities with R&D team

14) Installation and Commissioning support

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical engineers, software developers, project managers) to ensure cohesive product development.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and design reviews.
• Contribute to the development of new features and enhancements for ultrasonic washing machines.

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation , including BOMs (Bill of Materials), assembly instructions, and technical specifications.
• Prepare reports summarizing design progress, test results, and project status.
• Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.

• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion within budget.
• Track project milestones and deliverables.
• Communicate project status and updates to stakeholders.

• Stay updated with the latest advancements in ultrasonic cleaning technology and mechanical design.
• Implement best practices and innovative solutions to improve product performance and efficiency.
• Contribute to process improvements within the design and development team.

NOTE: The following job will require the candidate to Travel for commissioning , Installation(s) Handling, Vendor Development , Quality Assessments and Other R&D activities within or outside India. Candidate must have Valid Passport.

Must have knowledge of Fluid Turbulence , Laminar Flow

Must have knowledge of Linear Motion (Linear Actuators, Ball Screw, Cam & Follower)

Must have knowledge of Rack & Pinion type motion

Must have knowledge of Jigs & Fixtures

Must have knowledge of siphon , sheet metal structural tolerance

SOFTWARE KNOWHOW

Autocad Soliworks (CADD)

Proficient with MS Office

Knowhow of AI tools would be a bonus
