## 1. Core Responsibilities

### Technical Drawing & Design (The "Drawing" Aspect)

 * **Create & Modify Blueprints:** Develop detailed 2D manufacturing drawings and 3D CAD models for machinery components, assemblies, and sub-assemblies.

 * **Establish Tolerances:** Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure that parts manufactured by different vendors or departments fit perfectly during final assembly.

 * **Bill of Materials (BOM):** Prepare detailed BOMs specifying the exact materials, hardware, fasteners, and standard components required for fabrication.

 * **Design Optimization:** Review and modify existing drawings based on feedback from the assembly floor to simplify manufacturing and reduce production errors.

### Assembly & Precision Alignment (The "Fitting" Aspect)

 * **Oversee Machine Assembly:** Guide and supervise technicians and fitters during the layout, alignment, and assembly of complex mechanical components (such as shafts, bearings, gears, and pneumatic/hydraulic lines).

 * **Quality Inspection & Clearance Checks:** Use precision measuring instruments (vernier calipers, micrometers, dial indicators) to verify that fabricated parts adhere strictly to drawing dimensions before fitting.

 * **Troubleshooting Structural Fits:** Identify and resolve interference issues, misalignment, or improper clearances on the assembly floor, authorizing necessary modifications or re-machining.

 * **Testing & Commissioning:** Run trial tests on assembled machinery to evaluate mechanical performance, balance, and operational safety before final dispatch.
