Electrical/Civil Site Engineer

Job Summary:

The Site Engineer (Electrical) is responsible for supervising and executing all electrical

works at a utility-scale solar power project site in India. This includes managing

installation, testing, and commissioning of solar PV system components in compliance

with Indian regulatory standards, DISCOM/grid norms, and project-specific technical

specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

 Supervise installation of electrical components including solar PV modules,

inverters (string or central), transformers (HT/LT), RMUs, HT switchgear,

protection panels, SCADA, and earthing systems.

 Monitor laying of DC/AC cables, termination, megger testing, and cable routing

through trenches or cable trays.

 Coordinate with the EPC team, OEM vendors, and third-party contractors for

timely execution of electrical works.

 Assist in the preparation and execution of testing and commissioning plans (e.g.,

IR test, HV test, continuity checks).

 Ensure electrical installation adheres to Indian standards (IS/IEC), CEA grid

synchronization guidelines, and DISCOM/SLDC requirements.

 Interface with third-party inspection agencies (TPIs), DISCOM engineers, and

internal QA/QC teams.

 Prepare and maintain electrical test reports, work progress reports, site

measurement sheets, and as-built drawings.

 Ensure on-site electrical safety protocols in line with IS 3043, IS 732, and the

Electricity Act.
