JOB DUTIES: 1. Define and manage overall layout and general arrangement of systems and sub-systems of the locomotive. 2. Responsible for concept design, integration/packaging of systems and sub-systems of the locomotive. 3. Create 3D model, Assembly model and 2D drawing using Unigraphics (UG-NX). 4. Managing large scale assemblies of complete vehicle / locomotive, using PLM tools (Team Center / TCe). 5. Control and ensure compliance to clearance profile and weight/axle load limit of the locomotive. 6. Design of - Bogie, Underframe, Car body, Fuel tank, Drivers Cab and Controls of locomotive. 7. Knowledge on GD & T and ability to analyze fit and function is necessary. 8. Knowledge on - Sheet metal, large Fabrication, Rubber components, Casting and forging design. 9. Able to select Material referring companys internal standard / Indian and International standard. 10. Able to write, verify, analyses and implement new design and change requests. 11. Familiarity with all relevant and currently practicing international codes and standards for Mechanical, electrical and electronic systems such as – ISO, AAR, IS, ASTM, IEC, IEEE, EN etc. Able to learn and understand clients’ standards and specifications. 12. Prepare panning BoM (Bill of Material). 13. Support sourcing team/suppliers in parts development. 14. Knowledge on DFMEA, PFMEA, DoE, Design Reviews and Design Validation essential.
