Print Machine Operator

A Flex/Vinyl Printing Machine Operator sets up, runs, and maintains large-format digital printers for banners, vinyl graphics, etc., focusing on setup & operation, quality control, maintenance, and material management, ensuring high-quality output, minimizing waste, and adhering to safety standards for diverse print jobs. 

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Machine Setup & Operation:

• Load/unload media (flex, vinyl, canvas) and prepare machines for print runs.
• Use RIP (Raster Image Processor) software to process design files.
• Calibrate machine settings for color, speed, and resolution.
• Set up presses according to job specifications (color, size, material). 

2. Print Production & Quality Control:

• Monitor the printing process for optimal results.
• Inspect printed materials for color consistency, clarity, and defects.
• Make real-time adjustments (color, alignment) to maintain quality.
• Ensure printed products meet customer specifications and quality standards. 

3. Maintenance & Troubleshooting:

• Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
• Troubleshoot issues like color mismatches, misalignments, or machine malfunctions.
• Report major issues to supervisors or maintenance teams. 

4. Material & Inventory Management:

• Manage ink levels and other consumables for the press.
• Minimize material wastage during operation. 

5. Safety & Documentation:

• Follow all safety protocols and procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete production logs, paperwork, and accurate records. 

6. Collaboration:

• Work with prepress, production, and finishing teams.
• Communicate effectively to ensure timely completion.
