BrainSprint
Description
BrainSprint is a national-level business case arena hosted as a part of NLD Synapse 2026, the annual management fest of N. L. Dalmia Institute of Management Studies and Research, Mumbai. Designed for students who thrive under pressure, BrainSprint tests speed, strategy, analytical thinking, and real-time decision-making across multiple business domains.
The competition simulates real corporate environments through competitive online eliminations followed by immersive on-campus business simulations. Participants move beyond theoretical frameworks to solve industry-driven challenges, evaluate trade-offs, and defend strategic decisions before expert juries.
As a multi-industry platform within NLD Synapse 2026, BrainSprint brings together three high-impact business arenas-Think Tank (Brand Strategy & Marketing Intelligence), Nivesh Bazaar (Finance & Market Simulation), and Model Business Assembly (MBA). Each arena is designed to replicate real-world managerial situations, allowing participants to experience how marketing leaders, financial strategists, and corporate decision-makers operate in high-stakes environments.
Whether it’s repositioning a brand or navigating volatile markets, BrainSprint offers a fast-paced, experiential learning journey for future business leaders—making it one of the flagship competitive events of NLD Synapse 2026. The Top 5 teams will also be offered Pre-Placement Interview (PPI) opportunities.

Rounds
Online Business Quiz
Teams will attempt a 20 question multiple-choice quiz covering core business concepts, analytical reasoning, and domain knowledge. The quiz will be attempted only by the team leader on behalf of the team, and each team is allowed only one attempt. The team’s score will be based on the team leader’s performance in the quiz. This round will take approximately 20 minutes and will be used to shortlist teams for the Arena Selection and Business Case Study stages.
Arena Selection
After clearing the Online Business Quiz, teams choose their preferred BrainSprint arena—Think Tank, Nivesh Bazaar, or Model Business Assembly (MBA). This selection determines the focus of their Business Case Study and the on-campus finals. Teams are encouraged to select an arena that best aligns with their skills and interests, as all subsequent challenges will be tailored to the chosen domain.
Note: Only the team leader can make the arena selection in this round.
Business Case Study
Shortlisted teams receive a structured business case aligned with their chosen BrainSprint arena. Teams submit solutions in MS Word or PDF (1,500-2,000 words). Submissions are evaluated on problem interpretation, analytical insights, and practicality of recommendations. This round determines which teams advance to the on-campus finals.
On-Campus Finals
Shortlisted teams compete in live, arena-specific simulations. Each team participates in all sub-rounds sequentially, and performance across all rounds determines their final score.
Arena Structure:
- Think Tank: RE: BRAND IT! (brand repositioning) → BRAND AUCTION (investor bidding on brands)
- Nivesh Bazaar: Live Market Simulation → Jury Interaction & Justification
- Model Business Assembly (MBA): Single corporate crisis simulation
This round tests strategy, teamwork, leadership, and real-time decision-making in high-pressure scenarios. The Top 5 teams from this round will also be offered Pre-Placement Interview (PPI) opportunities.
