Footwear Merchant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and trend-aware Footwear Merchant to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, selecting, and purchasing footwear products that align with customer demand, seasonal trends, and company sales goals. This role requires strong analytical skills, vendor coordination, and a solid understanding of footwear fashion and market trends.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and select footwear collections based on market trends, seasonal demand, and customer preferences.
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to source quality footwear at competitive prices.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of stock.
• Analyze sales data to identify best-selling products and optimize product assortment.
• Work closely with the marketing and visual merchandising teams to promote footwear collections.
• Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms with vendors.
• Track industry trends, competitor products, and customer feedback to improve product offerings.
• Ensure product quality and compliance with company standards.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Fashion Merchandising, Retail Management, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in retail merchandising, preferably in footwear or fashion.
• Strong knowledge of footwear styles, materials, and trends.
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Strong analytical and inventory management abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and retail management systems.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with footwear brands or manufacturers.
• Ability to forecast trends and plan seasonal product lines.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
