Admission Counsellor

Role Purpose

You handle walk-in parents, enquiries, follow-ups, and conversions. You guide families on subject selection, batch choice, and career direction after 10th and 12th Commerce. You represent the institute in a competitive Ahmedabad coaching environment where parents compare fees, results, and faculty credibility before admission.

Key Responsibilities

Admissions Counselling

• Meet parents and students during walk-ins and scheduled appointments

• Understand academic level, school board, and goals before suggesting course

• Explain batches, schedule, subjects, tests, and study method clearly

• Handle objections about fees, comparison classes, and results

• Convert enquiries into confirmed admissions

• Maintain daily conversion ratio target

Parent Handling

• Speak comfortably with Gujarati medium and English medium families

• Explain academic progress and performance reports

• Manage sensitive conversations about weak performance or discipline

• Build long term trust so parents continue in 12th after 11th

Follow-ups and Lead Management

• Call fresh leads within 15 minutes during working hours

• Maintain structured follow-up cycle, Day 1, Day 3, Day 7, Day 14

• Track leads in CRM or admission register

• Coordinate with field team for appointment scheduling

• Re-activate old enquiries during peak admission months

Market Awareness

• Understand nearby coaching classes, fees, faculty names, and offers

• Respond confidently when parents compare institutes

• Share weekly feedback about market trends and parent expectations

• Suggest changes in communication or offers based on market reactions

Branch Operations Support

• Coordinate with faculty for batch allocation

• Assist in timetable explanation and batch shifting requests

• Support seminars, orientation sessions, and result meetings

• Maintain admission documents and student records

Qualifications

Mandatory

• Graduate in Commerce or related field

• Minimum 2 to 4 years experience in Ahmedabad coaching or education counselling

• Fluency in Gujarati, Hindi, and English spoken communication

• Experience handling parents of 10th to 12th standard students

• Strong confidence in face to face conversation

Preferred

• Background in Commerce coaching institute

• Experience in CBSE and GSEB board counselling

• Experience in admission conversion roles

• Familiarity with Ahmedabad local areas and school ecosystem

Skills Required

Communication Skills

• Switch language naturally based on parent comfort

• Explain academic concepts in simple terms

• Confident tone during fee discussion

• Strong listening ability before advising

Sales and Persuasion

• Handle price negotiation without reducing institute value

• Identify serious vs casual enquiries quickly

• Close admission during first meeting when possible

• Patience with anxious parents

• Calm response to comparison or complaints

• Professional appearance and body language

• Positive and reassuring attitude

Operational Skills

• Maintain follow-up discipline daily

• Accurate data entry and documentation

• Basic computer usage, Excel and WhatsApp communication

• Time management during peak admission rush

Working Hours

Regular: 11:30 AM to 8:30 PM

Peak admission season may extend based on parent availability
