Job Title: Assembly Fitter

Job Summary

The Assembly Fitter is responsible for assembling, fitting, and installing mechanical components and sub-assemblies according to engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards. The role requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work safely with tools and machinery.

• Key Responsibilities
• Assemble mechanical parts and components using hand tools, power tools, and fixtures
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions
• Fit, align, and adjust parts to ensure correct operation and tolerances
• Inspect assembled components for quality, accuracy, and defects
• Identify and report faults, damaged parts, or deviations from specifications
• Perform basic testing and functional checks of assembled units
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
• Follow health, safety, and company procedures at all times
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, and other team members
• Meet production targets and deadlines

• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
• Ability to read technical drawings and specifications
• Skilled in the use of hand tools and measuring equipment
• Good attention to detail and accuracy
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic understanding of quality control standards
• Qualifications & Experience
• High school diploma, technical certificate, or equivalent (preferred)
• Apprenticeship or vocational training in mechanical fitting or assembly is an advantage
• Previous experience as an assembly fitter or similar role preferred
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices
• Working Conditions
• Manufacturing or workshop environment
• May involve standing for long periods, lifting components, and repetitive tasks
• Shift work or overtime may be required depending on production needs
