CNC Programmer

CNC Programmer Responsibilities

Create CNC programs using software (like CAD/CAM systems)

Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and design data

Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds

Optimize programs for efficiency and accuracy

Simulate and test programs before production

Modify programs to fix errors or improve performance

CNC Operator Responsibilities

Set up CNC machines (lathe, milling, drilling, etc.)

Load materials and tools into the machine

Run machines according to programmed instructions

Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and safety

Measure finished parts using tools like calipers and micrometers

Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting

Replace worn tools and adjust offsets

Required Skills

Ability to read engineering drawings

Knowledge of G-code and M-code programming

Understanding of machining processes

Attention to detail and precision

Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Familiarity with measuring instruments

Qualifications

Diploma/ITI in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Experience with CNC machines (turning/milling)

Knowledge of CAD/CAM software (like AutoCAD, Mastercam, etc.)
