Design & Estimation Specialist

Job Summary:

The Solar Design & Estimation Specialist will be responsible for preparing detailed solar system designs, cost estimations, and technical documentation for both on-grid and off-grid solar projects. The role requires strong knowledge of electrical systems, panel configuration, and component selection to ensure optimal performance and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop solar PV system layouts using AutoCAD, PVsyst, and related tools.

Prepare single-line diagrams (SLD), wiring layouts, and panel connection drawings.

Perform load calculations and select appropriate equipment (inverters, cables, junction boxes, etc.).

Estimate material, labor, and project costs for solar and electrical panel installations.

Coordinate with the sales and production teams to provide technical and cost support for quotations.

Review technical specifications and tender documents to prepare proposals.

Optimize system design for performance and cost-effectiveness.

Maintain documentation and design database for ongoing and completed projects.

Stay updated on new solar technologies, panel standards, and electrical codes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Diploma/Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Renewable Energy Engineering.

2–5 years of experience in solar system design and estimation.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, MS Excel, and electrical calculation tools.

Understanding of AC/DC panel design, load balancing, and protection systems.

Strong analytical and technical documentation skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred:

Experience with ACDB, DCDB, and Power Distribution Panels manufacturing.

Knowledge of MNRE, IEC, and IS solar installation standards.
