Job Title: Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Job Summary

The Senior Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and components for complex engineering projects. This role involves technical leadership, hands-on design work, cross-functional collaboration, and mentorship of junior engineers to ensure high-quality, compliant, and cost-effective solutions.

• Key Responsibilities
• Lead the electrical design of systems, assemblies, and components from concept through production
• Develop schematics, wiring diagrams, layouts, and technical documentation
• Perform electrical calculations, simulations, and tolerance analyses
• Select and specify electrical components and materials
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards and codes (IEC, IEEE, NEC, UL, ISO, etc.)
• Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and failure analysis
• Support prototyping, testing, validation, and troubleshooting activities
• Collaborate with mechanical, software, manufacturing, and quality teams
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
• Support suppliers and manufacturing during production ramp-up
• Participate in customer or stakeholder technical discussions when required
• Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred)
• 2+ years of experience in electrical design engineering
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, control systems, or electronics (depending on industry)
• Proficiency in electrical CAD tools (e.g., Altium, OrCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN)
• Experience with design standards, safety regulations, and compliance processes
• Ability to lead technical projects and work independently
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills
• Preferred Skills
• Experience in system-level architecture and design leadership
• Familiarity with EMC/EMI, grounding, and safety design principles
• Experience supporting manufacturing and field issues
• Project management or technical lead experience
• Industry-specific knowledge (automotive, aerospace, energy, industrial, MEP, etc.)
• Working ConditionsOffice and laboratory environment
• Occasional travel may be required
• May support factory or site testing activities
