Job Summary

The General Manager (GM) will oversee overall business operations in the FMCG division, driving revenue growth, operational efficiency, and market expansion. The role requires strong leadership in sales, distribution, supply chain, and marketing to ensure achievement of company objectives and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Strategy & GrowthDevelop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales and profitability targets.

  • Identify new market opportunities, channels, and product expansion possibilities.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and consumer behavior.
  • 2. Sales & Distribution ManagementLead regional/national sales teams to achieve revenue targets.
  • Strengthen distributor and dealer networks.
  • Monitor secondary sales, market share, and channel performance.
  • Implement effective trade marketing and promotional activities.
  • 3. Operations & Supply ChainOversee supply chain efficiency including procurement, production, inventory, and logistics.
  • Ensure timely product availability across distribution channels.
  • Optimize costs while maintaining product quality.
  • 4. Financial ManagementManage P&L responsibilities for the FMCG division.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial performance reports.
  • Ensure cost control and profitability improvement.
  • 5. Team Leadership & DevelopmentLead and mentor cross-functional teams (sales, marketing, supply chain, finance).
  • Build a high-performance culture and ensure team productivity.
  • Conduct performance reviews and training programs.
  • 6. Marketing & Brand DevelopmentCollaborate with marketing teams for brand positioning and campaigns.
  • Monitor product performance and consumer feedback.
  • Drive initiatives for product launches and market penetration.
  • 7. Compliance & Quality AssuranceEnsure compliance with industry regulations, food safety standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain product quality and operational standards.
  • QualificationsMBA in Marketing / Business Administration or related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, or related discipline.
  • Experience 2–5+ years experience in the FMCG industry
  • Minimum 2 years in leadership/management role
