Job Summary

A Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and improving mechanical systems, components, and products. The role involves using CAD software, performing engineering calculations, creating technical drawings, and collaborating with manufacturing and project teams to ensure designs meet functional, safety, and cost requirements.

• Key Responsibilities
• Design and develop mechanical components, equipment, and systems.
• Create detailed 2D and 3D models using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
• Perform engineering calculations and simulations to validate designs.
• Select appropriate materials based on strength, durability, and cost.
• Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability.
• Conduct design reviews and implement improvements based on feedback.
• Support prototype development and product testing.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
• Troubleshoot mechanical design issues and provide solutions.
• Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles and engineering fundamentals.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, casting, etc.).
• Knowledge of engineering standards and GD&T.
• Preferred SkillsExperience with simulation tools such as ANSYS.
• Knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
• Familiarity with FEA (Finite Element Analysis).
