Purchase Engineer

• Experience with engineering materials such as:
• Raw materials (steel, aluminium, etc.)
• Machined parts, castings, forgings
• Electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic components

Procurement & Vendor Management

• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors for engineering materials and services
• Obtain and compare quotations, prepare comparative statements, and finalize orders
• Negotiate prices, delivery schedules, payment terms, and contracts
• Maintain and update approved vendor lists

Purchase Operations

• Process purchase requisitions and issue Purchase Orders (POs) as per requirement
• Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, spares, tools, and consumables
• Follow up with suppliers for on-time delivery and resolve delays
• Coordinate with stores, production, and quality teams

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure materials meet technical specifications and quality standards
• Coordinate with QC for inspection and acceptance of materials
• Handle supplier non-conformances, rejections, and replacements

Documentation & Records

• Maintain accurate purchase records, POs, GRNs, invoices, and contracts
• Ensure compliance with company policies, ISO standards, and audit requirements
• Support inventory control and stock optimization

Cost Control & Reporting

• Monitor material costs and support cost reduction initiatives
• Prepare purchase reports, MIS, and vendor performance evaluations
