Quality Control Engineer

Job Title: Quality Control Engineer – Compressor or Automobile Industry

Department: Quality / Production / Manufacturing

Reports To: Quality Manager / Plant Head

Job Purpose:

To ensure that all components, assemblies, and finished compressors meet the company’s quality standards, customer specifications, and industry regulations through inspection, testing, and process control.

Key Responsibilities:

·        Conduct incoming inspection of raw materials, casting, forgings, and bought-out components using relevant measuring instruments.

·        Perform in-process and final inspections for compressor components such as housings, rotors, crankcases, valves, shafts, etc.

·        Verify dimensional accuracy using tools such as Vernier callipers, micrometers, bore gauges, CMM, and surface testers.

·        Maintain and review quality records (inspection reports, test certificates, calibration logs, NCRs).

·        Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 / API / ASME standards and company quality procedures.

·        Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective & preventive actions (CAPA) for non-conforming products.

·        Support vendor quality audits and assist in developing supplier quality improvement plans.

·        Coordinate with the production and design teams for quality feedback and continuous improvement.

·        Inspect and document performance test results of assembled compressors (pressure, leak, vibration, noise, etc.).

·        Ensure all inspection instruments are properly calibrated and maintained.

·        Promote and maintain 5S, safety, and quality culture within the QC department.

Qualification & Experience:

·        Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.

·        2–5 years experience in QC/QA, preferably in compressor, pump, or rotating equipment manufacturing.

·        Knowledge of GD&T, mechanical drawings, and inspection techniques.

·        Experience with CMM, hardness testing, surface roughness testing, and leak testing.

·        Basic computer skills (MS Excel, ERP/QMS software).
