Store Supervisor

Role PurposeThe Store Supervisor ensures efficient inventory management, accurate stock control, timely issue of materials, and proper documentation. The role focuses on minimizing stock discrepancies, preventing wastage, and maintaining coordination between Purchase, Production, QC, and Dispatch teams.

Key Responsibilities1. Inventory Management- Maintain optimal stock levels to avoid overstocking or stock-outs.

- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of raw materials, consumables, and finished goods.

- Apply FIFO / FEFO / LIFO methods as per material requirements.

- Conduct regular stock audits and cycle counts.

2. Material Handling- Supervise receiving, storing, and issuing of materials.

- Ensure all inward materials are checked with GRN & QC approval before issuing.

- Coordinate with Production and Dispatch for timely availability of materials.

3. Documentation & ERP- Maintain and update all records: GRN, MRN, Issue Slips, Return Slips.

- Ensure all entries are made in ERP system in real-time.

- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports for management.

4. Coordination- Liaise with Purchase Department for timely procurement.

- Work closely with Production, QC, and Dispatch to ensure smooth material flow.

- Report discrepancies or shortages immediately to management.

5. Loss Prevention & Housekeeping- Monitor and prevent theft, pilferage, wastage, or damage of materials.

- Ensure cleanliness, safety, and proper organization of the store area.

- Implement 5S and lean practices for workplace efficiency.

6. Team Management- Supervise and guide store helpers/labor.

- Train them on proper material handling and safety procedures.

Performance Indicators (KPIs)- Stock Accuracy: 98% accuracy in ERP vs physical stock.

- Timeliness: Zero delay in issuing materials to Production/Dispatch.

- Documentation: 100% GRN/MRN/issue slips updated same day.

- Loss Prevention: Less than 1% annual material loss due to damage/wastage.

- Housekeeping: 5S audit score consistently above 80%.

- Coordination: No production stoppage due to store delay.

Required Skills & Competencies- Strong knowledge of inventory management & ERP systems.

- Basic understanding of supply chain and material planning.

- Attention to detail with good organizational skills.

- Ability to work under pressure with multiple departments.
