Travel Consultant

Key Responsibilities

• Customer Consultation: Analyze client requirements, preferences, and budgets to recommend suitable travel destinations and itineraries.
• Booking & Logistics: Book flights, hotels, car rentals, and excursions, ensuring smooth travel arrangements.
• Research & Information: Provide accurate information on destination weather, local customs, visa requirements, and COVID-19 regulations.
• Sales & Promotion: Meet sales targets by promoting travel packages, special offers, and upgrades.
• Client Relations: Maintain strong relationships with clients to encourage repeat business and handle, with composure, any problems or complaints.
• Documentation: Process payments, issue tickets, and ensure all travel documents (passports, visas) are in order. 

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Experience: Proven experience as a travel consultant or in a similar customer service role within the travel/hospitality industry.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Global Distribution Systems (GDS) like Amadeus or similar portals, along with MS Office.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients and vendors.
• Organization: Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple bookings simultaneously.
• Knowledge: Deep knowledge of international and/or domestic travel destinations and trends. 

Typical Qualifications

• Degree in Tourism, Hospitality, or a related field is often preferred, but relevant experience is critical.
• Foreign language skills are a plus.
