VMC Machine Operator

Key responsibilities

• Machine operation: Operate and monitor the VMC machine to ensure it runs smoothly and efficiently. 
• Setup: Load and unload materials, and set up and adjust machine tools as needed. 
• Quality control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications. 
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting to keep the equipment in optimal working condition. 
• Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications. 
• Safety and efficiency: Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all safety procedures. 
• Programming (for Programmer roles): For VMC Programmer cum Operator roles, this includes creating, editing, and optimizing CNC programs. 

Required skills and qualifications

• Experience in operating CNC or VMC machines is often required.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical drawings.
• Proficiency in machine operations and a strong attention to detail.
• Basic knowledge of G-code and M-code is beneficial.
• Good mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• For programming roles, experience with CNC programming is necessary.
• An ITI or diploma in a relevant technical field is often preferred.
