Job Purpose: Lead - Airport Systems is responsible for overseeing the installation and integration of airport operational systems, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specified quality standards. This role involves coordinating construction activities, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements while serving as the primary liaison between construction teams and airport management.

Construction Planning and Oversight:

Lead the construction activities for airport systems, including baggage handling, security, communications, Passenger Boarding Bridges (PBB), Vertical & Horizontal Transportation (VHT), Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS), Fixed Ground services (GPU & PCA).

Oversee the implementation of design concepts in construction activities that are submitted by consultants and contractors, ensuring they meet all specifications, drawings, and Bill of Quantities (BOQ).

Manage interfaces with structural, architectural, and MEP systems to ensure cohesive integration of all construction elements.

Project Management:

Manage construction activities from mobilization through to project completion, ensuring that milestones are met and projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Oversee the allocation and utilization of resources, including labour, materials, and equipment, to ensure efficient construction operations.

Plan and schedule construction activities in coordination with asset management, consultants, and Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to optimize resource utilization.

Budget Management:

Assist in the development of project budgets by collaborating with stakeholders to estimate costs related to materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.

Continuously monitor project expenditures against the approved budget, ensuring that all costs are tracked accurately and reported in real-time.

Coordination with External Consultants:

Engage and collaborate with external consultants, ensuring alignment with project goals and timelines.

Establish clear communication channels to facilitate effective collaboration and feedback.

Site Audits and Inspections:

Ensure that all construction activities align with the approved design documents and quality standards for airport systems.

Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with industry standards and project requirements.

Safety Management:

Promote a strong culture of safety by adhering to OSHA regulations and airport safety protocols, ensuring that all team members adhere to safety regulations.

Conduct safety trainings and risk assessments specific to airport systems construction activities.

Stakeholder Engagement:

Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, facilitating effective communication to resolve construction issues promptly.

Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and statutory organizations to obtain necessary approvals for construction activities and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.

Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders regarding construction progress and issues.

Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:

Ensure all construction works comply with national and international codes, standards, and regulations relevant to airport systems, including VHT, PBB, GPU, and PCA.

Stay informed about industry regulations and standards affecting airport systems construction.

Team Leadership and Development:

Provide guidance and training to construction teams on the installation and operational aspects of airport systems.

Foster a collaborative team environment, reinforcing a culture of integrated teamwork and continuous improvement in construction practices.

Digital Mindset:

Implement digital tools and technologies (e.g., Building Information Modelling (BIM), project management software, and data analytics) to enhance project efficiency and collaboration.

Utilize data analytics to monitor construction progress, assess performance metrics, and make informed decisions to optimize resources and timelines.

Education Qualification:

B.Tech / M. Tech in Mechanical/Electrical/ Electronic Engineering field from a recognized institution.

Work Experience:

10+ years of relevant experience in specialized airport systems

Experience of working in both Greenfield and brownfield Airport projects
