Job Purpose: Design Engineer is responsible for designing structural design and analysis of precast building components using advanced engineering software, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards. The role involves coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver accurate, efficient, and constructible designs while managing project schedules, resources, and risks through all design stages.

Structural Design & Analysis:

Perform detailed structural analysis and design of precast components and building systems using engineering software such as Tekla, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, and CONSYS. Ensure stability, strength, and code compliance of all structural systems.

Drawing Review & Verification:

Verify technical drawings prepared by junior engineers, detailers, and draftsmen for accuracy, constructability, and compliance with design intent. Provide feedback and necessary revi sions.

Stakeholder Management:

Collaborate with architects, contractors, clients, and various disciplines such as electrical and mechanical teams to integrate structural designs with other building systems. Coordinate with precast factory teams for production feasibility, and support vendors in understanding design requirements for embedded parts, joints, and reinforcement detailing.

Risk Management:

Identify, assess, and mitigate design-related risks, ensuring the structural safety and viability of complex precast systems. Develop contingency solutions when required.

Code Compliance & Standards:

Ensure all structural designs comply with relevant IS codes, local building standards, and project-specific requirements. Promote standardization of repetitive design elements for improved efficiency.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration:

Facilitate regular coordination meetings with mechanical, electrical, and plumbing teams to resolve clashes and design conflicts in a proactive manner.

Client & Contractor Engagement:

Engage with clients and contractors to present design approaches, address queries, and obtain approvals. Provide technical support during execution phases.

Team Development:

Build a high-performing team. Set clear KPIs, track progress, and implement strategies for continuous improvement. Promote a respectful and safe workplace, lead collaborative and productive teams, and mentor for growth and success. Tracks and reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) for digital business success.
