Associate General Manager - Steel

Responsibilities

• Collate and review quality expectations for similar products across the BUs to develop appropriate vendor approach and product-wise quality standards.
• Review existing & prepare new product-wise QAPs and Inspection protocols for vendors.
• Read expertise: Quality Plans / ITP preparation; Steel codes & Standards, best Quality practices.
• Assist in review of existing vendors and empanelment of new steel vendors as per TDCs & QAPs formed with BUs or by establishing new QAPs.
• Visit and review of steel suppliers to evaluate raw-mtrl sources & raw mtrl handling, production processes, QA & QC systems, finished product traceability, delivery systems & logistics, as per new vendor applications or periodic reviews of existing vendors along with BU quality reps. 
• Carrying out and witness Testing at plants or at third party labs.
• Work with COE leads and buyers to review and clear TDCs during pre and post RFQ process.
• Documentation / Report Generation for approval related or pre-dispatch related inspections.
• Maintaining records of inspection and QA activities.

Qualifications

Qualification:

Minimum B.E. / B. Tech

Experience:

Candidate with a deep exposure to steel industry with thorough knowledge of latest steel production processes, QMS/ QAP functions, latest products, grades and technologies. Products of Interest - HRC/ HRS/ Plates/ Coated steel/ Structural Sections/ Rebars & PC Strands/ ERW, Seamless, LSAW HSAW Pipes / etc
