BIM Modeler - Engineering

Responsibilities

• 3D Modeling & Detailing: Prepare accurate 3D building models of reinforced concrete and precast structures, including rebar modeling, using software like Tekla Structures, Revit, and AutoCAD.
• Drawing Generation: Generate detailed shop drawings, fabrication drawings, erection drawings, plans, elevations, and sections showing all necessary details for production and installation.
• Bar Bending Schedules & BOQ: Create reinforcement detailing and generate Bar Bending Schedules (BBS), Bill of Materials (BOM), and quantity take-offs directly from the models.
• Coordination & Clash Detection: Collaborate with engineers, architects, and MEP teams to ensure full design integration, identify and resolve potential clashes and discrepancies using BIM workflows and software like Navisworks.
• Compliance & Standards: Ensure all models and drawings adhere to applicable local and international codes and standards (e.g., ACI, IBC, AISC, EN, ASTM) and project-specific requirements.
• Documentation & QA/QC: Maintain accurate documentation, manage revisions, updates, and version control, and conduct self-checks for quality assurance.
• Technical Support: Potentially mentor or review work by junior team members. 

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in civil or Structural Engineering, or a Diploma with relevant experience.
• Experience: Minimum of 4–6 years of proven experience in precast design, detailing, and modeling, preferably in residential, commercial, or industrial projects.
• Software Proficiency (Mandatory):
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling and detailing software: Tekla Structures, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of other relevant software like RGS or CADS RC is a plus.
