Job Purpose:
The Electrical Engineer assists in the detailed design, testing, and optimization of turbine electrical systems, focusing on power quality, load management, and thermal performance. The role supports subsystem validation through comprehensive testing, such as short-circuit analysis and insulation resistance measurements, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards. It oversees SCADA data integration to enable real-time monitoring and fault detection and assists in developing preventive maintenance schedules for critical components. Additionally, the Electrical Engineer collaborates with design, field, and manufacturing teams to refine designs and processes, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and alignment with operational requirements.
Design & Development:
Lead the design of LV/MV control panels for wind turbine applications including power distribution, control logic, and protection systems. Prepare and review electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using tools like EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, etc. Ensure compliance with IEC, UL, CE, and other relevant standards.
2. Product Engineering:
Drive product standardization, modularization, and cost optimization initiatives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, software, procurement, quality) for integrated product development.
Manage engineering change requests (ECR/ECO) and maintain BOMs and documentation in PLM systems.
3. Vendor Development & Management:
Identify, evaluate, and develop new vendors for control panel components and assemblies.
Collaborate with sourcing and quality teams to ensure vendor capability, capacity, and compliance with technical specifications.
Conduct technical audits, support vendor onboarding, and drive continuous improvement in quality and cost.
Monitor vendor performance and resolve technical issues related to supplied components.
4. Project Execution:
Support project teams in panel customization, prototyping, and validation.
Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing teams for panel build and testing.
Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
5. Innovation & Quality:
Evaluate new technologies and components to improve panel performance and reliability.
Conduct root cause analysis for field issues and implement corrective actions.
Ensure adherence to quality systems and continuous improvement practices.
B.E./B. Tech in Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
5-8 years of experience in design and development of control panels, preferably in the wind energy or renewable sector.
Hands-on experience with EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, SAP/PLM tools.
Strong knowledge of electrical standards (IEC, UL, etc.) and safety practices.
