Job Purpose:

Lead the engineering and design efforts for highway projects, ensuring adherence to standards, safety, and environmental considerations. Manage project documentation, coordination, and compliance with quality and safety regulations. Provide technical support during construction phases, driving continuous improvement and cost optimization across all project phases.

Engineering and Design Work:

• Prepare basic and detailed engineering work for highway projects, for both pre-bid and construction stages.

• Assist in preparing the structural design aspects for highway construction projects, incorporating economy, safety measures, and environmental considerations as stipulated.

• Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine project requirements and constraints.

• Develop innovative design solutions to meet client needs and project specifications.

• Make necessary design changes as per requirement for projects under construction.

 

Project Documentation and Coordination:

• Carry out the revision of project drawings that are let to contract.

• Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ) for civil works related to highway projects.

• Implement and maintain proper documentation management systems.

• Prepare technical documents for highway projects as required.

• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including surveyors, environmental specialists, and construction personnel, to ensure project alignment and successful execution.

• Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to provide project updates and address any concerns.

 

Quality and Safety Compliance:

• Adhere to quality and safety policies and guidelines in all project-related activities.

• Ensure compliance with national and international standards and regulations like IRC Code, ICS Code, Contract Agreement, etc.

• Monitor and review the accuracy and completeness of design work.

• Identify and mitigate potential design flaws and project risks.

 

Technical Support and Continuous Improvement:

• Provide technical support during the construction phase, addressing any design-related issues and ensuring adherence to design specifications.

• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and standards.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of design processes and methodologies, incorporating best practices and lessons learned from past projects.

• Ensure cost-optimization through design aspects in the overall business delivery.
