Job Purpose: This position is responsible for overseeing and leading the Project Management and Assurance Group (PMAG) to ensure effective management and coordination, for the execution of thermal power plant projects. The PMAG Head will direct all functions within the department, including cost control, planning and scheduling, risk management, document control, and compliance.

Head PMAG (HO) - Project Management & Assurance Group

Leadership and Management:

Provide strategic direction and leadership for the PMAG department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and project objectives.

Oversee and manage the performance of the PMAG team, including Cost Controller & Financing, Planning Scheduling & Monitoring, Risk, Audit and Compliance, Document Controller, and other roles.

Foster a collaborative work environment and ensure effective communication across all team members and stakeholders.

Cost Management:

Oversee the cost control and financial management processes for thermal power plant projects, including cost estimation, budgeting, and financial forecasting.

Ensure accurate monitoring and control of project costs, implementing cost optimization initiatives and tracking financial performance.

Planning and Scheduling:

Supervise the development, monitoring, and updating of project schedules, including progress tracking, reporting, and adjustment as needed.

Ensure timely review of project progress reports, MIS, and other relevant documentation.

Risk, Audit, and Compliance:

Oversee the identification, assessment, and mitigation of financial, operational, and regulatory risks associated with projects.

Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies through regular audits and risk management practices.

Develop and maintain risk management frameworks and ensure timely updates to risk registers and plans.

Supervise the administration and management of the Document Management System (DMS), ensuring proper categorization, accuracy, and retrieval of project documents.

Oversee document control processes, including version control, security, distribution, and archiving.

Stakeholder Coordination:

Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and coordination across departments.

Facilitate regular meetings and updates to keep stakeholders informed on project status, risks, and financial performance.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify opportunities for process improvements within the PMAG department and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Stay updated on industry trends and advancements, integrating relevant innovations into project management practices.

People Engagement and Team Leadership:

Lead recruitment efforts for the PMAG department, ensuring the selection of qualified candidates and effective onboarding processes.

Develop and implement succession planning strategies to ensure the availability of skilled personnel for key roles within the department.

Oversee learning and development initiatives to enhance team skills and performance, providing opportunities for professional growth.

Foster a positive work environment by promoting employee engagement, satisfaction, and retention through regular feedback, recognition, and support.

Address and resolve employee concerns, ensuring a cohesive and motivated team.

Educational Qualification:

Graduate in Engineering is required; a postgraduate degree or MBA is preferred.

Work Experience (Range of years):

A minimum of 20 years of extensive experience in project management, assurance, and control.

Proven track record in overseeing and managing complex projects, with a focus on project management, quality assurance, and financial control.

Preferred Industry:

Extensive experience in the power generation industry, including thermal power plants, or other large-scale industrial sectors.

Strong background in engineering, project management, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance within the energy or industrial sectors is highly preferred.
