Lathe Machine Operator

Job Summary : The Lathe Machine Operator – Mould Making is responsible for machining precision components used in the production, repair, and maintenance of moulds and dies. The role requires high accuracy, strong understanding of tooling materials, and the ability to work with tight tolerances essential for mould manufacturing.

• Key Responsibilities : Set up and operate manual and/or CNC lathe machines for mould components.
• Machine core pins, sleeves, ejector pins, cavities, inserts, and other mould parts.
• Interpret detailed engineering drawings, CAD prints, and technical specifications.
• Work with high-precision tolerances (micron-level accuracy where required).
• Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds for hardened tool steels.
• Perform threading, boring, facing, grooving, and taper turning operations.
• Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, vernier calipers, bore gauges, dial indicators).
• Polish and finish mould components to required surface finish standards.
• Assist in mould assembly and fitting when required.
• Conduct routine machine maintenance and ensure safe operation.
