Job Description

Lead – Commissioning

Responsibilities

Commissioning Strategy & Planning

  • Develop a comprehensive commissioning strategy aligned with project timelines and operational requirements.
  • Prepare detailed commissioning schedules, resource plans, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Define commissioning scope, deliverables, and acceptance criteria in coordination with project stakeholders.

Pre-Commissioning Activities

  • Ensure completion of all pre-commissioning checks such as flushing, cleaning, pressure testing, and calibration.
  • Verify installation quality and compliance with design specifications before energization/start-up.
  • Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspection and certification.

System Commissioning & Start-Up

  • Lead the execution of commissioning activities for mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Supervise energization, functional testing, and performance validation of equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues during start-up and implement corrective actions promptly.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce strict adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements during commissioning.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement safe work practices for all commissioning activities.
  • Ensure environmental compliance and proper handling of hazardous materials.

Documentation & Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain commissioning checklists, test protocols, and performance reports.
  • Document deviations, corrective actions, and lessons learned for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure timely submission of commissioning dossiers for project handover.

Stakeholder Coordination

  • Act as the primary interface between project execution teams, vendors, contractors, and operations.
  • Facilitate technical discussions and resolve conflicts to maintain commissioning progress.
  • Provide regular updates to management on commissioning status, risks, and mitigation plans.

Training & Handover

  • Organize training sessions for operations and maintenance teams on new systems and equipment.
  • Ensure smooth transition from commissioning to operations with complete documentation and knowledge transfer.
  • Validate readiness of systems for commercial operation.

Continuous Improvement

  • Capture lessons learned and develop best practices for future projects.
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance commissioning efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Monitor KPIs related to commissioning performance and implementing corrective measures.

 

Qualifications

Qualification: BE / B.Tech (Power engineering & Mechanical/ Electrical / Instrumentation) , M. Tech

Experience : +15 Year of Experience, Knowledge and experience of commissioning, analyzing and troubleshooting. Possessing knowledge of the  Plant operation is essential for responding promptly to any troubleshooting. Explore troubleshooting approaches, structured approach and adopt best practices
