Lead Power System

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end power system architecture for utility‑scale and distributed BESS projects, including AC/DC system design, inverter selection, and grid‑interface engineering.
• Develop advanced power system models (steady‑state, dynamic, transient) using tools such as PSCAD, PSS/E, PowerFactory, MATLAB/Simulink.
• Define technical specifications for PCS, transformers, switchgear, protection systems, and balance‑of‑plant equipment.
• Evaluate grid‑interconnection requirements including fault‑level studies, harmonic analysis, reactive power planning, and compliance with CEA/CERC/IEEE standards.
• Collaborate with cell, pack, and thermal engineering teams to ensure seamless integration between battery subsystems and power electronics.
• Lead technical due diligence for OEMs, EPC partners, and technology vendors.
• Support project execution through design reviews, FAT/SAT, commissioning support, and troubleshooting.
• Drive innovation in hybrid systems (solar + BESS), microgrids, black‑start capabilities, and grid‑forming inverter technologies.
• Establish engineering best practices, design guidelines, and quality frameworks for BESS power systems.
• Mentor and guide engineering teams to build strong internal capability in power systems and energy storage.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems specialization preferred).

15+ years of experience in power system engineering, with at least 5 years in BESS, renewable energy, or power electronics‑driven systems.
