Phlebotomist

JOB DESCRIPTION – Reception • Receiving samples/patients with verbal request and prescription. • Register patients, label the collected samples & deliver to respected department • Collection of payments from patients, issuing receipts etc. • Receive phone calls and register home / Hospital/Nursing Home visits • Looking after Housekeeping & biomedical waste • Maintenance of outsourced register • Register complaint/s & feedback/s from patients & doctors & hand it over to Management for immediate action • Verify the collected samples & Reject collected samples if not matching with criteria, after verification • Perform data entry • Handling of non-conformity product and taking appropriate corrective and preventive actions in liaison with concerned. • Issuing test report. • To follow & work as per instructions given by lab management time to time • To attend Management Review meetings.

JOB DESCRIPTION – Phlebotomy • To maintain stock of items related to specimen collection and prepare materials related to specimen collection like cotton swabs/ balls, gauze pieces etc. • To discard medical waste as per biomedical waste guidelines • Looking after Housekeeping & biomedical waste • Perform In-house and outdoor nursing home / home visits for sample collection • Verify the collected samples & Reject collected samples if not matching with criteria, after verification • Ask for repeat collections for rejected samples. • Record vein puncture failures done/day • Train the new phlebotomist • Maintain inventory of sample collection supply • To deliver collected samples to respective department • Register complaint/s & feedback/s from patients & doctors & hand it over to Management for immediate action • Perform data entry • Handling of non-conformity product and taking appropriate corrective and preventive actions in liaison with concerned. • To follow & work as per instructions given by lab management time to time • To attend Management Review meeting
