Power Press Operator

Job Summary:The Power Press Machine Operator is responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining power press machines to produce metal components according to specifications while ensuring safety, quality, and production targets are met.

• Key Responsibilities:Operate and set up power press machines safely and efficiently
• Perform punching, bending, forming, and cutting operations
• Select and install appropriate dies, tools, and fixtures
• Conduct pre-operation checks and ensure machine readiness
• Monitor machine performance during operation
• Inspect finished components using measuring instruments
• Maintain product quality and minimize rejection
• Follow all safety rules, procedures, and PPE requirements
• Perform basic machine maintenance and cleaning
• Report machine breakdowns, defects, or safety issues to supervisor
• Maintain daily production and inspection records
• Skills & Qualifications:Minimum education: High School / ITI (Mechanical / Fitter preferred)
• 1–3 years of experience operating power press machines
• Knowledge of press tools, dies, and safety mechanisms
• Ability to read technical drawings and job cards
• Familiarity with measuring tools (Vernier caliper, micrometer, gauge)
• Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Experience:Minimum 1–2 years of relevant industrial experience
• Technical Knowledge Required:Understanding of press tonnage and material thickness
• Die alignment and tool setting knowledge
• Basic preventive maintenance practices
• Safety Requirements:Strict adherence to safety guidelines
• Use of safety shoes, gloves, goggles, and ear protection
• Knowledge of emergency stop and machine guards
• Compliance with lock-out/tag-out procedures
• Performance Indicators:Achievement of daily production targets
• Low rejection and rework rate
• Zero safety incidents
• Machine downtime reduction
