Purchase Manager

Role Overview:

The Purchase Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement of raw materials, equipment, and services essential to the company’s operations. The ideal candidate will have strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of supply chain dynamics, and the ability to ensure timely and cost-effective purchasing decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute strategic procurement plans aligned with company goals.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to ensure optimal value.
• Monitor and forecast material requirements to maintain stock levels and avoid shortages.
• Coordinate with production, quality, and finance departments to align purchase needs.
• Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and pricing.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
• Stay updated with market trends, material pricing, and alternative sourcing opportunities.
• Handle import procurement processes if applicable.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. (MBA is a plus.)
• Relevant experience in procurement or supply chain, preferably in the tubes or steel manufacturing sector.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Knowledge of raw materials used in tube manufacturing (e.g., steel grades, polymers).
• Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/Tally or similar).
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in vendor development and cost-saving initiatives.
• Strong understanding of logistics and inventory management.
• Exposure to international sourcing and customs regulations (if relevant).
• Proficiency in MS Excel and data-driven decision-making.
