Job Description

A Field Sales Representative for B2B Sales and Distribution Channel Development is a high-impact, on-the-ground role responsible for driving revenue by acquiring new business clients and expanding the company's network of distributors, dealers, or retailers. This role requires extensive traveling within an assigned territory to meet potential partners, negotiate contracts, and manage existing relationships to ensure product availability and brand visibility. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Channel Development & Expansion: Identify, recruit, and onboard new distributors, dealers, and agents to expand market reach.
  • Relationship Management: Manage existing dealer connections, nurture long-term relationships, and act as the primary contact for channel partners.
  • B2B Sales & Customer Acquisition: Identify and target potential business clients (e.g., retailers, corporate accounts) to drive direct sales.
  • Field Operations & Visits: Perform regular on-field visits (e.g., 30-35 shops daily in FMCG) to track market demand, check inventory, and ensure proper product placement.
  • Negotiation & Closing: Negotiate pricing, contracts, and payment terms to secure deals and achieve sales targets.
  • Market Intelligence: Monitor competitor activities, pricing, and new products to provide feedback to management for strategic decision-making.
  • Support & Training: Assist partners with promotional schemes, marketing collateral, and training on product knowledge.
  • Reporting: Submit daily/weekly reports on visits, leads, sales figures, and market trends. 

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: Proven experience in B2B field sales, preferably within FMCG, manufacturing, or distribution channels.
  • Communication & Negotiation: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate product benefits and negotiate with business owners.
  • Independence: Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage own travel schedule.
  • Analytical Ability: Skill in analyzing sales data, market trends, and performance metrics.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Zoho) and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is often preferred.
  • Logistics: Valid driving license and own vehicle are often required. 

Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Achievement of monthly/quarterly sales targets.
  • Number of new distributors/dealers onboarded.
  • Market coverage and penetration percentage.
  • Order volume and value from channel partners. 

Typical Working Conditions

This is an "on-the-road" position requiring extensive travel within a designated territory. It often involves a 6-day work week and may require occasional work on weekends, depending on the industry. Compensation typically includes a base salary plus incentives, commissions, and vehicle/travel allowances.
