Senior Accountant

About the Role

We’re looking for experienced UK accounting professionals to join our team, focusing on bookkeeping and year-end finalisation work for UK-based clients. This role is ideal for someone who understands UK compliance, enjoys working with multiple clients, and can handle work independently with accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping

Maintain accurate financial records for UK clients

Bank and credit card reconciliations

Posting purchase and sales invoices

Managing accounts payable and receivable

Handling VAT returns and ensuring compliance with HMRC

Resolving discrepancies and maintaining clean ledgers

Year-End / Finalisation

Preparation of year-end accounts for UK entities

Working with trial balance, journals, and adjustments

Preparing working papers and supporting schedules

Assisting in corporation tax computations

Liaising with senior accountants / clients for queries

Ensuring compliance with UK accounting standards

Software Experience (Preferred)

Xero

QuickBooks Online

Sage

Excel (strong working knowledge required)

Requirements

Minimum 2–5 years of experience in UK accounting

Strong understanding of UK VAT, bookkeeping, and year-end processes

Experience working with UK clients or accounting firms

Good communication skills (written & verbal)

Ability to manage multiple clients and deadlines

Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset

Nice to Have

Experience with payroll and CIS

Knowledge of Making Tax Digital

Exposure to finalisation and audit support work
