Senior Manager - Contract Administration - AIAL

Purpose / Objective: 

The Head of Contract Administration at Adani will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing all contractual aspects within the infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate should have 15-20 years of experience in the infrastructure industry and possess strong leadership and negotiation skills.

 

Key Accountabilities
1.        Excellent understanding of Project scope of work and conditions of the Contract. 
2.        Preparing project milestones and highlighting the critical activities. Ability to identify & manage the risk and resolve conflicts.
3.        Monitoring the construction schedule & preparing the Daily Progress reports, Delay notices, contractual letters, etc.
4.        Closely working with the project team [Project Director, Project Manager, Planning Manager, Procurement Head, Construction Manager, QA/QC Manager and HSE Manager] to ensure various obligations of the Contract are getting executed timely and can maintain its contractual position intact. 
5.        Responsible for establishing the Delays with the Client and apprising the Project team for catch-up the same. 
6.        Assisting the project team in preparing the progressive invoices and compliance documents for submitting to the client 
7.        Preparing contractual letters for all the issues coming day-to-day basis. Also, preparing the letters for various Govt. Departments (viz. Electricity board, Traffic police, District Magistrate, Medical Superintendent, etc..) for necessary approvals & liaising.
8.        Preparing the payment schedule – milestone wise, and accordingly monitoring the progress to ensure that we can achieve the invoice submission timely. 
9.        Reading the various Conditions of Contract and outlining the responsibilities that are to be followed during the course of execution and apprising the Senior Management for any lapse/failure timely. 
10.        Imposing contractual obligations and LD clauses replying for variations & claims and annulling them.
11.        Support, guidance and clarification to the project team on general contractual issues.
12.        Preparation of Project Contract Commercial Plan and Contract Appreciation Document, Tender Appreciation Note, Pre-Bid Queries Risk Register
13.        Support Techno-Commercial discussion, coordination and communication with Clients, Vendors & Stakeholders
14.        Preparation & issue of variation order/amendments based on change requests received from Projects teams.
15.        Support the project team in evaluation of resolution on contractual claims
16.        Provide reports & MIS to management on timely basis
17.        Provide data and coordinate for Statutory & Internal Audits

Education Qualification:

BE/B.Tech. (Civil/Mechanical/Electrical) from a reputed Institute recognized by UGC

Additional certification in MRICS OR Contracts management will be preferred.

 

Relevant Experience:

12-16 years of experience in large projects like Metro, Airports, Malls, Hotels, Commercial buildings, IT Parks, Mixed use Townships etc.

Minimum 10 years of experience in similar Contracts & Procurement role/function with reputed Real Estate Developers/EPC contractors/Cost Consultants/PMCs

  • Extensive experience in negotiating complex contracts, ensuring favorable terms, and mitigating risks.
  • Proficient in contract performance monitoring, compliance management, and dispute resolution.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align contract administration activities with organizational objectives.
  • Strong understanding of risk assessment and mitigation techniques, ensuring contractual compliance and minimizing potential liabilities.
  • Proficient in developing and implementing risk management strategies and contingency plans.
  • Demonstrated achievements in contract administration, including submitting contractual claims, achieving negotiation savings, maintaining quick turnaround times, resolving disputes, and establishing review mechanisms and templates.
  • Extensive experience in managing operations in coordination with cross functional team, Project Management, MIS, Contract administration, Contracts and Procurement, project planning, budgeting, and monitoring, coordination and Liaising. 
  • Possesses extensive knowledge of Bespoke, CPWD and FIDIC contracts.
