VMC Machine Operator

A VMC (Vertical Machining Center) Operator sets up, runs, and monitors CNC machines to produce precise metal or plastic parts based on technical blueprints. They load materials, select tools, inspect finished products for quality compliance, and perform routine maintenance. Key skills include blueprint reading, tool calibration, and machine troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine Setup & Operation: Loading raw materials, selecting tools, and setting up VMC machines according to blueprints and job orders.
• Production Monitoring: Running programs and monitoring VMC machines to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
• Quality Control: Inspecting finished components using precision tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to meet strict tolerances.
• Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and correcting tool offsets.
• Safety Compliance: Maintaining a clean and organized work area and adhering strictly to safety regulations.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Previous experience as a VMC operator, CNC operator, or in a manufacturing environment.
• Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints and technical drawings.
• Machine Knowledge: Familiarity with CNC controllers (Mitsubhishi) and cutting tools.
• Precision: High attention to detail and ability to work with close tolerances.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in machining technology is preferred.
